My Panorama

I took these pictures back in March when I went to Sea Ranch. I started working on the panorama later but was having problems blending the 6 images together. I finally finished today, using some techniques I just recently learned in class. Its a huge file and I had to size it down a lot. The orginal is 70MB, I got this one to 700K. I would love to print out the original size, that would be soo cool because its sooo big.

So on Oct 16th, Jacque and Matt will go to New York and meet the witch herself!!!! That is so exciting!! I wish I could go, its like the dream of a lifetime coming true for Jacque and Matt.

I just looked at this picture and realised its still a work in progress. I have a more completed one but this still shows the work I created.

So I was kind of bummed for a while because I felt I had nothing to blog about. I did all these post in the middle of school and then I just ran out of pictures. I guess i just need to take more ;). I was thinking of putting up pictures that I took of making the cake I made in research of this piece below, but I also didn't feel inspired enough to do it.
This I was thinking I could post pictures that I took a long time ago that not many people have seen. I think I will do that but not right now.

Now I have two post in one day, which I don't like to do. I would prefer not to flood my blog but sometimes time gets away from me.

Well this is the collage I created for my Art 74 class. I was suppose to be digital cake. I didnt know what to do so I thought I would recreate a Maggie Taylor piece which is a few posts down. I think it turned out pretty good, but its not digital cake. I like the collage still. I was annoyed with this project, and kept my venting from appearing here because I was afraid the teacher would come here and see what I was saying. Thats one reason for the delay in posting this image.

I did this a week ago. I was bored and started playing around with my eye color. I did this with Jacque's eye but they got uploaded weird so no one could really see them. I think the multicolor eyes look more real. Tell me what you think. Photoshop is fun!!!

80000

At the end of last month, I reached "80000" miles on my speedometer. That number might need a one infront, not sure. Since then, I've driven close to 300 miles. I think I've gone about 30, 000 miles since I've had the car.

Maggie Taylor

I met her today! Tonight was the reception and booksigning of the Maggie Taylor exhibit. She and Lola Haskins worked together to create the book, "Solutions Beginning with A." It's a very wonder full book with Maggie doing the images and Lola creating stories behind them. The show was amazing and if you have a chance to look at it, it's at the Modernbook Gallery in Palo Alto, 494 University Ave, from Sept 7- Oct 30. I purchased a book and had it signed by the photographer and the author. I talked to Maggie about her work; how I really enjoyed it and that it doesnt seem like it's photoshop. Her husband is also a very famous photographer. He was doing what we do now in photoshop back in the 1970s in the dark room with about 10 projectors. Really amazing stuff. His name is Jerry Uelsmann. I stole two images from her site to share with you all so you can see her work. I feel bad about doing this, so I put on the images "copyright: Maggie Taylor" so the credit still goes back to her. This is an image from a new book that she is working on and will be out in June or July of next year. It is called "Almost Alice" and it looks like it will be a wonderful book. I can't wait to see it all complete.

When the Cat's Away, the Mice Come Out and Play

Slow day + nothing to do= creative Amber. Amber was working one sunday morning and was really bored. So she and Farzam started stacking the cups. The 22oz-44oz cups being stacked was a reinactment for me so I could see what they did earlier. This time stacking it was unstable and wouldnt stand on its own. I got to photograph the progress of the stacking of the cups though.

Im really bored in class so thats why ive done two posts in a three hour period. sigh..... digital cake.....

Omar's tattoo

Alfredo is the artist behind Omar's tattoo. He got it just before he left for Mexico. He choose the astrological sign of the scorpion with one red star and blue stars in the animal. I probably should have taken the surran wrap off of his back before I took the picture, buuuuut, I didn't. His dad wasnt too pleased about it.

Matt's (and Paul's) birthday party

The saturday after Matt's and his twin's, Paul, birthday, they had a fun party at their house. I ended up being Paul's krutch, protecting him from the guys who wanted to draw on him with a sharpie. He is a very intertaining drunk. I havent talked to him to see how much he rememeber of that night. I found out, while a little tipsy, i have enough strength to pick up Matt, but then I can also get Jacque down stairs in a worse condition, lol. The night was interesting. Matt was drunk and danced like he was straight, he cant remember some parts of the night because he was so drunk, there was a girl wrestling guys and she won! Go girl power! And it was a fun night to hang with friends and talk.

San Francisco with Matt

In May, right after school got out, Matt and I decided we wanted to go to San Francisco. We had no reason other then just to go because it's there. Matt had never been on the Golden Gate Bridge so we went there. He has a phobia of water and I am so proud of him that he decided to go on the bridge and walk all the way across and back. It was a fun day in a typical overcast San Francisco.
